Easton Walled Garden, Grantham is all that is left of this very old English Hall belonging to the Cholmeley family The huge walled garden and the gatehouse is a must-see in the East Midlands. There are sculptures of plants, rock, metal and wood. The whole place has been lovingly restored by the family and an army of volunteers.
As well as beautiful displays of plants, some of them rare, there are walled orchards and a yew tunnel. Excavations have discovered an ancient turf maze. Robot mowers keep the grass well mown and tiny shrews feed on the seeds. This place is worth a trip.
