All that is left of this very old English Hall belonging to the Cholmeley family is the huge walled garden and the gatehouse. There are sculptures of plants, rock, metal and wood. The whole place has been lovingly restored by the family and an army of volunteers.
As well as beautiful displays of plants, some of them rare, there are walled orchards and a yew tunnel. Excavations have discovered an ancient turf maze. Robot mowers keep the grass well mown and tiny shrews feed on the seeds. This place is worth a trip.
